Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Training Description
This three day class presents the industry recommended fundamentals of MRO production planning and control.
Throughout the course, we will discuss the capabilities of your ERP and/or MRP system(s) as it applies to maintenance planning and scheduling. It is our experience most companies seriously under utilize these systems.
The class begins with an analysis of the business environment that influences maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes.
Students are then taught how to create a process map to help enable them to identify problems with a particular mro line.
We then examine the technologies changing every aspect of the supply chain: We take an in-depth look at:
- Industry 4.0
- The Smart Factory
- Cloud Technology
- The Internet of Things (IoT)
- Predictive Analytics
- Advanced Robotics
- 3D Printing
- Mobile Internet
- Artificial Intelligence

The class then takes an extensive look at forecasting to provide students with an understanding of industry recommended procedures for reliable prediction. Next, we examine best practices in sales and operations planning and preparation of the master schedule.
Students are introduced to inventory management to foster cooperation with purchasing and the warehouse.
We now discuss best practices in materials resource planning (MRP), capacity management, and production activity control to learn how to make the most of what we have.
Students will use the process map they created the first day of class to identify how the process they have outlined can be improved through the application of the theory of constraints, lean manufacturing, and just in time (JIT).
Each Student Receives:
- A student manual or textbook for use during and after the class.
- Instruction from an experienced business professional (minimum of 30 years) with at least five years in a corporate senior management position (CEO, President, COO, Vice President, CFO).
